Looking for Trouble: The Coming Authoritarian Army & Why We Should Be Concerned!

Ahmaud Arbrey being Killed
Ahmaud Arbery Shooting Video

As Christians in a sinful fallen nation, a nation more supportive of Evil than Good what should we be doing? Many are confused and many Christians are all in on overthrowing the government to get their nation back. But what are they going to actually get back?

Be careful what you wish for!

As Christians we should never be a party to anarchy or evil in any way by word or by deed.

Gun Culture, the Gun Cult in America has met Authoritarian politics. I am not talking about your normal gun owner who keeps a gun or guns for hunting or protection. I am talking about people who organize their entire worldview around death and violence. Guns used to intimidate or kill someone in opposition to their views, criminal activity to be honest.

January 6th was just the beginning.

We know who they are, The Oath Keepers, The Proud Boys to name a few and the all the lone wolves (whom we do not know about). They are gleefully waiting from a signal from Trump or Steve Bannon or Flynn. Bannon is a Leninist provocateur and claims to have people organized to do harm in coming elections. People want to use their guns to kill people.

"Does anyone still remember the Chicago Seven? They were a disparate group of radicals—some who knew each other, some who didn’t—who went to the Democratic convention in Chicago in 1968 to spark trouble. Trouble did indeed erupt, although maybe not the exact trouble they had wanted. They were indicted and prosecuted. And then things went terribly wrong for the government.

The prosecution thought it was running a trial, a legal proceeding governed by rules. The defendants decided that they would instead mount a new kind of media spectacle intended to show total contempt for the rules, and to propagandize the viewing public into sharing their contempt. The prosecution was doing law; the defense countered with politics.

The indictment of Steve Bannon for contempt of Congress is the opening bell of a similar kind of fight over law, justice, and authority. The attack of January 6, 2021, to stop the lawful transfer of presidential power struck nearer the heart of American democracy than the disorder in the streets of Chicago had. In 1968, the worst of the violence was mostly initiated by police; in 2021, it was initiated by the pro–Donald Trump mob forcing a police officer to shoot to defend the officeholders whom it was his duty to protect. But though the details of the riots were different, there is a striking parallel between the gleeful contempt for legal authority of the far-left defendants of long ago and the pro-Trump authoritarian nationalists of today. Congress wants to hear from pro-Trump partisans about their advance knowledge, if any, of the January 6 attempt to halt the certification of the 2020 presidential election. At former President Trump’s direction, those partisans have adopted a no-cooperation strategy, pleading that the defeated ex-president should permanently enjoy the legal privileges of his former office..." from the article: Steve Bannon Knows Exactly What He’s Doing

To be clear The Second Amendment is necessary and is a part of our national character. Gun ownership is a right we must have. But machine guns and the like are beyond the pale, beyond sound reason and common sense.

The propaganda feed that energizes these people comes from Fox News, OAN and a variety of conspiracy theorists and others like Charley Kirk, etc. They keep the fuse lite and the power going. Many of these you tube malcontents are in it not only for the glory but the money. Motives are seldom unselfish!

Do you think that the men who chased down and killed Ahmad Arbry were a fluke? This will be what we will be witnessing on TV and in our neighborhoods on a regular basis. And yes, there is also Antifa and related groups. We will have a smorgasbord of vigil antis

Lawlessness is already a problem in California as peoples respect for law-and-order declines.

To be a nation of laws we must be a people of laws! If we selectively start ignoring the rules anarchy will follow and Anarchy may just be around the corner.

Be careful what you wish for! Open rebellion will not be a reality show in which we have no stake. This will affect all of us.

"A disturbing question now hangs over the conduct of American politics. “At this point,” said an audience member at a recent pro-Trump event, “we’re living under corporate and medical fascism. This is tyranny. When do we get to use the guns?” As the crowd applauded, the man persisted: “No, and I’m not — that’s not a joke. I’m not saying it like that. I mean, literally, where’s the line? How many elections are they going to steal before we kill these people?” The question is important, not only for the depth of its extremism, but for the clarity of its logic. For years, many on the right have defended the Second Amendment with the “in case of emergency break glass” doctrine. Maintaining armed forces outside the U.S. government, in this view, is necessary for opposing the government if it grows tyrannical. A significant number of Americans have armed, trained and organized themselves with this possibility in mind...

It is tempting to dismiss this as the talk of posers and blowhards. But some posers and blowhards have live ammunition at their disposal. We have already seen deadly violence spark at the edges of social controversy — in Charlottesville, in Kenosha, Wis., in the U.S. Capitol. These are becoming the culture war equivalents of the Boston Massacre — brief, blundering clashes that take on mythic significance as indictments or rallying cries..."

For years, the NRA and the Gun Industry (did you know America is the largest Weapons dealer is the world?) have promoted a narrative of violence.

The United States the Worlds Largest Arms Dealer

Does might make right? America seems to think so.

"The United States has the dubious distinction of being the world’s leading arms dealer. It dominates the global trade in a historic fashion and nowhere is that domination more complete than in the endlessly war-torn Middle East. There, believe it or not, the United States controls nearly half the arms market. From Yemen to Libya to Egypt, sales by this country and its allies are playing a significant role in fueling some of the world’s most devastating conflicts. But Donald Trump, even before he was felled by Covid-19 and sent to Walter Reed Medical Center, could not have cared less, as long as he thought such trafficking in the tools of death and destruction would help his political prospects...even in a Biden presidency, such weaponry continues to flow in and it remains business as usual for this country’s giant arms merchants to the detriment of the peoples of the Middle East. Unless you’re Raytheon or Lockheed Martin, selling arms is one area where no one should want to keep America “great.”

Have you heard of the “Clenched Fist of Truth”?

NRA AD 2017 : Violence of Lies

This video in clever semantics calls for rebellion.

No doubt even if Trump does not run in 2024, we are headed for a third world type authoritarian or worse form of government either from the right or the left.

As Christians, as sojourners this is not our home. We are being called as representatives of the Kingdom of God. While here we can be effective in a broken world, a broken and sinful society. We just must make sure we do not inadvertently become part of the Powers and Principalities.
