Samaria: The Good Land | S4 E1 | The Holy Land

"ABOUT THIS EPISODE Why is Samaria called the good land? Bible geographer Jack Beck shows us in season 4, episode 1, of The Holy Land: Connecting the Land with Its Stories that Samaria is a place of strong agriculture, rainfall, and coastal plains. Even more importantly, it’s where God brought Abraham and Sarah as part of His promise to them. This flourishing region was the very first piece of the promised land that God would show Abraham and Sarah, telling them in Genesis 12:2 that “I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing” (NIV). Knowing the stories of Samaria is critical to understanding the promises that God delivered to His people 2,000 years ago so that we can learn how they still impact us today. The Holy Land: Connecting the Land with Its Stories is hosted by Bible geographer and teacher Jack Beck. In this fourth and final season, gain greater insight into Scripture teachings within the New and Old Testaments when you journey through Samaria, the Negev and Southern Wilderness, and Jerusalem.
