Sir Hubert von Herkomer Painter of the Working Class & Royalty
"Sir Hubert von Herkomer began from very humble means but beat the odds to become one of Britain's great portrait painters. His father was a gifted wood carver with commissions in the USA but Hubert would travel to America and paint heads of state and Mark Twain and be very eagerly collectible around the globe. His early childhood traveled from Bavaria to a brief time in Cleveland Ohio then finally to the UK where he made his fortune.
His work ethic he passed on to his students when he opened up his studio school and finally he delved into filmmaking and produced starred in and directed his first ventures into cinema." from the video introduction
