The Amish
"Chapter 1 of "The Amish," an intimate portrait of contemporary Amish faith and life. This film examines how such a closed and communal culture has thrived within one of the most open, individualistic societies on earth." from video introduction
The Amish are a group of traditional Christian church fellowships, Swiss German and Alsatian Anabaptist in origin. They are closely related to Mennonite churches who are also known for simple living, plain dress, Christian pacifism, reluctance to adopt conveniences of modern technology, with a view to not interrupt family time, nor replace face-to-face conversations whenever possible. The Amish have maintained many values both family and otherwise that are to be celebrated. Although sinners like all men there is much we can learn from their culture.
