"The Bearded Woman" or "Magdalena Ventura and Her Husband"

The backstory of this painting reminds me of the sad misuse, condescension, and exploitation of people throughout history who had physical aberrations of problems.

In America, we have had the circus sideshow and the exploitation of people with physical problems. This has been a sad feature of humanity from the beginning.

This painting was an excellent example of the work of the painter José de Ribera.
