The Decline of Masculinity in Church and Culture Damages Children

The Decline of Masculinity in Church and Culture Damages Children

As a male teacher in America, I have seen the decline of family and faith in the faces of the children I have taught.

No fathers at home, and little if no exposure to Christianity leaves children searching through everything from pornography to paganism to ground themselves in a hostile world.

With the reality of no male role models or bad male role models boys, young men are being led into chronic sin and evil.

What can we do?

Our needs and laments always start with prayer, not trying harder.

Being right with God each day allows the Holy Spirit to influence us in ways that bless ourselves, our family, and our culture.

Be intentional about scripture reading and sincere honest prayers as you look to your Lord.

Fatherly Influence is Not Macho Arrogance

We are NOT talking about the church being more macho but having families that include fathers and mothers.

We are talking about men who honor their wives and their children.

Muscles, crude language, and bad attitudes are not what God desires in Godly men.

As men, as fathers, we must repent of our sins and honor our wives and children.

Unfortunately, churches in America are short of men who model virtue and respect.

In this too we must step up and be present for our families and communities.

Christina Hoff Sommers Explains Why Boys Are Falling Behind

"Christina Hoff Sommers explains why feminized classrooms are hurting boys. The push for girls to explore typically male-dominated fields combined with a zero-sum worldview among teachers has resulted in a “girls win, boys lose” scenario. With fewer male teachers and classroom assignments that cater more to girls' strengths, such as introspective writing, boys increasingly feel frustrated, disengaged, and unworthy of success. Often, boys’ instincts are treated as borderline criminal pathologies to be treated, rather than potential strengths that can be guided and refined with the help of male role models. Christina underscores the urgent need for a balanced approach to education that better understands and serves both girls and boys.' from the video introduction
