The Resurrection of Jesus: Luke 24 - Bible Project
"This video concludes Luke's epic portrait of Jesus of Nazareth. The disciples discover the empty tomb and eventually have their entire view of the world turned upside-down as they meet the risen Jesus. Luke shows how Jesus' kingdom of God mission comes to its climactic moment, and he sets the stage for its continuation in Luke's second volume, Acts." from video introduction
2000 years ago, something happened that has changed the course of history from B.C. (Before Christ) to A.D. (the Latin Anno Domini--the year of our Lord).
That event was so dramatic it completely changed 11 men’s lives, so much so that all but one died a martyr’s death.
That event was an empty tomb? An empty tomb that was just a short walk from the center of Jerusalem. Yet after 2,000 years of history, a large portion of mankind hasn’t forgotten that empty tomb and the historical record of the resurrection appearances of Jesus Christ.
The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the beginning of Christianity, the defining doctrine of our faith, and the most spectacular claim in the history of the world. Jesus was a God-Man, sent from heaven, crucified in the most public way, dead and buried in a rich man’s tomb, which sepulcher was sealed with inscrutable security by the mighty military powers of the Roman Empire, and then, a dead man who called Himself Almighty God lives even now. The corporal person of Jesus of Nazareth exists today at the Right Hand of God the Father. He is not buried, he lives on in a resurrected body. Christ defeated death in that any who have faith in him will continue on in eternity in a resurrected body on the New Heaven and New Earth!
