The Tower Of Babel Began The Great Divorce From God For The Nations

"We had a fall in Genesis 3. We had a second rebellion in Genesis 6, that was so bad, that permeated humanity so deeply that God sends a flood. After the flood, Noah and his sons emerge from the ark and God repeats the original Edenic mandate; spread out, populate and spread my goodness. So what do they do? They congregate at Babel. And at this point, God has had enough. He divorces humanity. And allot them other members of his council, but they also rebel. God comes to Abraham because he still wants to restore the nations. Babel and the call of Abraham set the stage for the rest of the Old Testament, this is why it's Israel against the nations, and it's Yahweh against the gods." from video introduction.

As a student of the bible have you noticed that Adam is not mentioned again (except for genealogies) in the Old Testament. Our modern Christianity has done a good job of down playing the spiritual rebellions and where sin and evil actually came from.

The worlds rebellion that we see in Genesis 3 accounts for mankind's part in the fall but the major way evil and sin spread was through the pride and evil of celestial beings. Genesis 6:1-8 says: 1 When man began to multiply on the face of the land and daughters were born to them, 2 the sons of God saw that the daughters of man were attractive. And they took as their wives any they chose. 3 Then the LORD said, “My Spirit shall not abide in1 man forever, for he is flesh: his days shall be 120 years.” 4 The Nephilim2 were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of man and they bore children to them. These were the mighty men who were of old, the men of renown.

5 The LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. 6 And the LORD regretted that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him to his heart. 7 So the LORD said, “I will blot out man whom I have created from the face of the land, man and animals and creeping things and birds of the heavens, for I am sorry that I have made them.” 8 But Noah found favor in the eyes of the LORD.

For evil and sin to grow throughout the world something else had to happen and that was when Angelic creatures came down and bred with human women. The resulting race of creatures where giant and exceedingly evil, so evil in fact God flooded to earth to kill them. Their spirits where then confined to the earth and are what we today refer to as Demons. After the flood before we learn about Abraham, we are told that all of Noah’s descendants came together in an attempt to create a new and false Eden (Genesis 11:4). They used a new technology, brick-making to construct a tower that was intended to reach the heavens in an attempt to come together around their own empire, Babylon, instead of God’s. This spectacular event was the beginning of many nations, each with their own god, all of which ultimately rebelled against Yahweh. The story of the Tower of Babel and the gods of the nations is unknown to us, by mere omission, the ancient Hebrews however were well aware of this reality.

This glaring omission on our part shows how selective we have become in our views of the supernatural.
